Timanfaya Twizy Tour in Lanzarote

Most of party were German English was related to us in English-but seemed like a shorter version Assumption was made that we were comfortable on main roads and driving on the right ! Thought it was going to be from the single track road . However loved the way back on the dirt road - could have done that for much longer! Didn’t enjoy the walk to volcano-my fitness was not up to that.

What a great trip. Our lovely guide (Marianne) had to deal with us as our Hotel was able to fix a date with a party of Germans and so she had to translate for us; I hope I got your name correct. This trip wis well with it, not only is it great fun to drive a Twizy but you get a great insight as to the history of the island and volcanoes . As we were on a group tour we were given prioty over individual sightseers. The traffic going into Timanfaya stretched many kilometres and I am sure they would have been queuing for a god few hours, whereas we jumped the queue and then were able to view the park which are not open to those who choose to do a solo trip. One piece of advice, wear trainers and not sandals and take some warm clothing as it can get cold when leaving sea level. Also remember the passenger in the back of the Twizy as there is no protection from the draft/wind and so it is quite chilly. A great trip, so do go and try it out.

It was a full on day. It was a great experience being able to drive yourself around with a group in a quickly vehicle.

The tour started surprisingly as we were charged additional € 8 for a Timanfaya bus beyond the mentioned € 20 for the Timanfaya entrance. Driving the Twizy was fun, but they are not driven in the national park. The landscape is also fascinating, we just wished for some more information. The tour was well organized - even an alternative bus was organized quickly after the breakdown of our original bus. It is just a little bit difficult to plan the day, as the tour was postponed one day in advance and it may take up to 6 hours. Next time, we would simply take a rental car to get to the Timanfaya national park and use the bus, which is included in the entrance fee.

This place is fabulous, if is first time when have the chance to see what i volcano can do, and how long need the nature to come beak to life

We were looked after so well. The whole tour from start to finish gave us a real adventure as a group of 8. Something for all of us, the tour round the volcano was amazing and we loved the little stops for tapas on the way. Would thoroughly recommend.

There were 24 people in our group. We were the only English couple. The tour guide was lovely & welcoming. She did her best to keep us informed but the details were brief. Driving the twizy was great fun . The first stop was a walk to the El Cuervo crater, unfortunately we had sandals on making the walk along the cinder paths uncomfortable. Then we drove to the Rubicon winery ,staying for around an hour to charge the cars & had a small glass of wine each & cheese taster if you wanted it , costing 6euros. Then next we drove to a meeting point where a coach picked us up for the drive through Timanfaya park . We both really enjoyed our trip (despite wearing the wrong footwear) . It’s a different way of going to Timanfaya but so enjoyable with the extra stops included. Definitely remember your trainers & take a jacket in case it’s cooler.

The tour was great, fantastic experience throughout, the only down side was we were with a coach load of other nationality and only 4 of us were English speaking which meant we were given very little time to be given information. Our tour guide was very pleasant but needed to give a little more time to us. Other than that, it was such a great experience to look over the volcanic landscape that only materialised less than 300 years ago.
